Most commonly cyber frauds are: charity fraud , internet ticket fraud , gambling fraud etc.
Charity fraud: It is a act of using fraud to get money from people who believe they are making donations to a charity.
Internet ticket fraud: When you buy ticket from a fake website you doesn’t know that it is a fake website, you came to know that when you have done the payment of the ticket but ticket doesn’t arrive or turn out to be fake and the money aren’t refunded.
Gambling fraud: Can be of 4 Types: Fake Identity, MultiPlayer account, Promo Abuse, Bad Bots
- Fake Identity: Players register using fake ID documents. Minors masquerade as legal users by providing fake details.
- MultiPlayer account: A single user creates two or more fake accounts and player profiles to compete against themselves in online poker tournaments, thereby controlling the entire game.
- Promo Abuse: Players create multiple fake identities or real stolen identities to benefit multiple times from gaming promotions and giveaways beyond the limits set per legitimate user.
- Bad Bots: Players exploit the system through gaming bots to artificially accelerate game progress or mine currency.
